New spring package in place… off we went to the races.
The bear shows for another go around on the race track and the crew is ready. This may have been the first time, all season, the crew was able to truly take advantage of the hot lap procedures. We were able to go on the track multiple times, take sufficient laps, and come off for adjustments. The crew really showed what they were made of, running back and forth from stands to pits (they’ll beg for a hot tub on Sunday).
The A-main was a series of door to door battles interrupted by moments of dodging extremely slow traffic. Multiple clean laps, racing side by side with Eric Blackard was the highlight. I can’t say enough about how exciting and fun it is to get next to another driver fighting hard and clean. We got this one by just a couple of feet at the checkered flag.
The energy of the night was nearly lost by confusion by the track officials in the final line-ups. Thanks to the crew from car 46 the errors were corrected and we finish 8th. Its good to be up front again. It seems the bear brings his magic when he’s in the car.
